My name is Justin Leitgeb, and I’m a software engineering consultant in New York City specializing in Ruby and Objective C (iPhone) programming, as well as high availability systems architecture for web applications including deployment to “cloud computing” environments such as Amazon AWS. Contact me if you’d like to discuss how I may be able to help with your project.
In addition to client work, I’ve been responsible for a number of projects through my consulting agency, Stack Builders Inc. These include two iPhone apps available on the App Store: SubwayDelay, an application for seeing about current delays in the NYC Subway system, and Listable, a free application with web interface for managing personal and shared lists.
My iPhone development usually includes an integration with web services, which I build using the Ruby frameworks Rails or Sinatra.
I’ve also made contributions to a number of open-source projects, especially in Ruby, including GeoRuby, the Ruby Memcache client, Feedzirra and Merb. I have a number of Ruby libraries that I’ve written independently as well including extensions to ActiveRecord, the object-relational mapper used in Ruby on Rails. These projects can be found on my GitHub page.
On my blog, you’ll find information on my latest projects and notes about building large-scale projects with Ruby.
